Over-Night Beachy Waves

This is the easiest way I have found to achieve the beachy hair look!
I can get a good wavy look from french braiding my hair but doing it myself is time consuming and holding my arms up over my head for that long is KILLER!

I am a huge fan of waking up to gorgeous hair!
This is a NO HEAT sleep-on-it-and-shake-it-out-in-the-morning kind of tutorial.
Just 10 minutes of prep time before bed and 5 minutes to set your style in the morning!
This method works best for hair that can hold a curl fairly well.

1. Shower before bed and towel dry as much of the water out of your hair as possible. You want your hair to dry overnight. If your hair is still wet in the morning it will not hold the curl.
2. Brush your hair straight back.
3. Part your hair in two right down the middle.
4. Part the left side of your hair just behind your ear.
5. Starting with the left front section brush it flat towards your ear. This is important for later!
6. Start twisting this section of hair clockwise AWAY from your face.
7. Keep the twist tight and work your way down to the ends.
(It works best for me to hold this completed section at the ends between my lips so that it is out of the way and doesn't unravel while performing the next steps)
8. Brush out the back left section of hair pulling it up to the same level as the first twist.
9. Begin twisting this section of hair clockwise and away from your face as well.
10. Keep a tight twist all the way to the ends.
11. Now is the tricky part.  Starting with the BACK section, gasp the ends with your RIGHT hand pulling it up and over the FRONT section while holding the ends with your LEFT hand. This is where the placement of the first twist makes the difference. If its too far forward you will have a funny crease in the back section. You want the completed twist to easily fall behind your ear. This also makes sleeping on it more comfortable.
12. You will need to alternate your hands grasping the twisted sections at the ends so that the twist does not unravel. You will know you are going the right direction with your twist if the two sections keep their shape. If they look like they are starting to blend into one another you are twisting in the wrong direction and the twist will not hold. Keep twisting the two sections together all the way to the ends and secure with an elastic.
13. Repeat on the right side.
14. Get a good nights rest!

ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ

Good Morning time to see how it turned out!
15. Don't be discouraged by what your slept on twists look like!
16. Take out the elastic and let the twist unwind.
17. Starting with the front left section, slip your fingers through your loose hair above the twist.
18. Pull your fingers through your hair to the ends to create lots of smaller sections.
(You will know your hair is still too wet if the curls don't bounce back at this point.)
 19. Slip your fingers through your hair above the twist in the back left section.
20. Pull your fingers through to the ends again.
21. Repeat on right side.
22. Be sure to scrunch some mousse into your waves to smooth them out some and to keep their shape throughout the day. You can see the difference it makes between frame 21 and 22.
All finished! Rock it girl!
This look is polished enough for the office, flirty enough for a date, and trendy enough for the day-to-day!

Let me know how it works for you!
I would love to see pictures of how it turns out!

Till next time,
